The third largest city in Missouri and is known as the Queen City of the Ozarks. According to the 2000 U.S. census the population of Springfield is 151,580. The 2000 population for the Ozarks 10-County Region is 513,872. Springfield is listed in Inc. magazine's Top 25 Cities for Doing Business in America, ranking 15th in medium metro. Within the Ozarks 10-County Region are some of the fastest growing counties in Missouri, including Christian County which is the fastest growing county in the state. Area attractions include entertainment at Branson, Bass Pro Shops Headquarters, the Ozarks' Lake Region, and a number of local festivals.
